He was born on February 19, 1953, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to the late William J. Vicars and Frances L. Skeens Vicars. He was a 1971 graduate of Wellston High School and a member of Hope United Methodist Church and the church choir. He was a former employee of the A.J. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Wallace Vicars, whom he married on February 12, 2005; his sister, Kathleen Vicars of Wellston; stepson, Mike McCorkle ( Angie Whalen) of Wellston; three step grandchildren who called him "Papaw B," Carson and Karlee McCorkle, and Madison Stewart; mother-in-law, Thelma Wallace of Chillicothe; and his two "fur babies," Isabel and Lucy. Bill had no children of his own, but he loved them all as his own. He had a very special bond with Carson, and Karlee was his little doll. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 A.M. at the Hope United Methodist Church in Wellston with Pastor Leland Brehm officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
