Sandra Arthur

Sandra R." Hazel" Arthur, 67, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at Doctors Hospital in Columbus. She was born in Wellston, Ohio, on May 7, 1949, to the late Roy H. Gilliland, Sr. and Marjorie Ward Gilliland. She grew up in Wellston on North Ohio Avenue and attended Wellston High School. She retired following 20 years employment at Meijers. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Lee Arthur on May 20, 1988, and two brothers, Paul E. Gilliland and Harold S. Gilliland. Surviving are a son, Donnie (Angie) Arthur, Jr. of Columbus; a daughter, Sandra Dee ( Art) Scalf of Columbus; two brothers, Jeffrey (Barb) Gilliland of Minford, Ohio, and Roy H. Gilliland, Jr. of Columbus; two sisters, Pamela ( Timothy) Spearry of Wellston and Sharon ( Paul) Jackson of Jackson, Ohio; five grandchildren, Nickolas Scalf, Daniel Scalf, Olivia Cosner, Chere' Washington, and Leahna Arthur; three great grandchildren, Teagan, Robin, and Christian; an aunt, Virginia Ward, of Jackson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends at the Jenkins Funeral Chapel in Wellston on Saturday from 11 A.M. until the time of services at 1 P.M. Reverend Gene Garrett will officiate the services with burial to follow in the Real Friends Cemetery on Pattonsville Road. The family suggests that memorial donations be given to the Jenkins Funeral Chapel in lieu of flowers for burial expenses.
