Robert Wiles

Robert " Bob" Wiles, 81, of Richmond Dale, Ohio, after being together with his wife, Betty Preston Wiles, for the past 64 years, passed away April 19, 2018, at Hamden Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born in Richmond Dale , where he was raised and lived his entire life, on March 19, 1937, to the late Asa Wiles and Gertrude Benson Wiles. He was a 1954 graduate of Southeastern High School and was self employed in sales. He was a Jefferson Township trustee for twenty-two and a half years and served for many years as president of the Ross County Trustees and Clerks Association. He was responsible for and very proud of all the projects he accomplished for his community. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Lucille, Margie, and Eloise, and a brother, Howard " Bud." Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jimmy Wiles of Jackson, Ohio, and Scott ( Marsha) Wiles of Richmond Dale; Three grandchildren, Mandy Wiles, Jimmy Wiles Jr., and Robert Asa Wiles; two great grandchildren, Zaydah and Isabelli; and a sister, Mary Rolle, of Chillicothe, Ohio. Friends will be received for visitation on Monday from 4 until 8 P.M. at the Richmond Dale Church of God. Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at the church with Pastor John Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Mound Cemetery in Richmond Dale. Betty Wiles would like to thank the wonderful staff of Heartland Hospice. She would also like to give a special thanks to the Richmond Dale Church of God and to Doug Hayburn and the Southern Ohio Monument Company. Arrangements are by the Jenkins Funeral Chapel of Wellston.
