Joey Marks, 56, of Hamden, Ohio, passed away peacefully at OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, on Thursday morning, April 11, 2024. He was born in Gallipolis, Ohio, on October 17, 1967, and was a 1985 graduate of Woodrow Wilson Military School in Xenia, Ohio.He was married 33 years to his wife, Chrissy Auxier Marks, who survives, along with his three children at home: Roger, Ty, and Heidi Marks. Also surviving is a brother, Harold ( Lori ) Marks of Indiana; sisters Anna ( Ed ) Rife of Wellston and Mittie Stapleton of Portsmouth; "special parents " Jeanee and Merle Collins of Jackson; special father-in-law, Harry Manring of Hamden; nieces and nephews; and his dog, Dolly Jo. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Loren Brewer and his mother-in-law, Julia Chapman.
Joey could always be found working on some type of motor. He made lawn mower racers that went at very high speeds and was a participant of the local races.He was known for his ability to make almost anything when asked. In his spare time, he was an avid OSU Buckeyes and Dallas Cowboys fan.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, April 17th, at 11 A.M. at the Lincoln Cemetery with Merle Collins officiating. Family and friends may gather at the Jenkins Funeral Chapel in Wellston after 10 A.M. on Wednesday. A funeral procession will form to go to the cemetery.
