Jerrod Elden Rogers

Jerrod Elden Rogers, 36, of Wellston, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday evening, December 7, 2023, while helping others in his line of duty. He was born in Athens, Ohio, on March 17, 1987, to his surviving parents of Wellston, James and Betty Eberts Rogers.He was a 2005 graduate of Vinton County Consolidated High School and studied EMT-B at Pickaway-Ross CTC along with other EMT schooling. He married his loving wife, Davian Simmons Rogers, on March 24, 2012. He currently worked as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician at the Med Care Station of Jackson. He loved spending   time with his two children, Chloe Gail Rogers and David Elden Rogers, and all of his family. In his free time he went motorcycle riding. His greatest enjoyment in life was his AEMT profession, all of the countless families he got to help and know, and all his EMS co workers. Besides his parents, wife, and children, he is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, James and Jessica Rogers, and a sister, Mia Clark, all of Columbus, Ohio; brother-in-law and his wife, Mark and Julie Edwards of Corning, Ohio; father-in-law, Mark Edward Simmons of Wellston, who was Jerrod's " Bonus Father "; loving and close grandmother-in-law, Hope Edwards, of Wellston; special friends : Jeff and Megan Mercer, Ben Lambert, Josh Hardin, and Darryl Hart; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and his EMS family. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Diana Gail Simmons.  Jerrod requested cremation, and there will be a celebration of life service for his family and friends at a later date.
