Eleanor Essman

Eleanor passed away on Monday at the Holzer Medical Center- Jackson ER. She was born on March 23, 1923, in Wellston to the late Harry B. Reese and Dorothy Browne Reese. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Paul Essman, a brother, " Brownie" Reese, and a great granddaughter, Rhiann Richmond. She was a 1941 graduate of Wellston High School and earned a B.A. from Ohio University in 1967. She will be remembered as the Wellston High School librarian from 1966 to 1989. She was active with the Wellston Rotary, the Southern Hills Arts Council, and the Sts. Peter and Paul School.  She is survived by her four children, Anne, Marcie, Mary Pat, and Joe , and their families. Rosary will follow the visitation on Wednesday at the Jenkins Chapel at 8 P.M.  Memorials can be made to the Sts. Peter & Paul School in her memory. Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday at Sts. Peter & Paul Church at 2:30 P.M. with Father Donald Maroon officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery. A dinner will follow at the Parish Hall.
